Rallies Planned:
Meetup on Vancouver Island
A meetup is held annually between Canada Day and Memorial Day weekends on Vancouver Island. Check out the Vancouver Island Roadtrek Community facebook page or the calendar on Roadtrekchapter.org for more details.
Meetup in Washington
Check out the Good Old Roadtrek Owners facebook page for information on the annual meetup at Bayview State Park the last week in August.
There are over 50 facebook pages related to Roadtrek with meetups often posted throughout the year. I try to post these on Roadtrekchapter.org when I find them. Let me know of your events at [email protected]
Rallies in the works:
Suggestions anyone? We'd love to hear from you. Go to the CONTACTS page for VP email addresses. Really ... just do it!
How to go about organizing a rally:
The first thing is to decide that you can and will do this. That's the hardest part!
Once you have an idea or plan you think will work, contact your VPs. They will help with details (there are always details) and ensure the rally is posted on the chapter calendar. Besides, they just might be be willing to co-host the rally or put you in touch with someone else who will. Remember, others have done this before and it's okay to ask for help.
After that it's a matter of getting organized. There's a downloadable pdf file on the main Roadtrek International website called: RallyPlanningGuiderev2011.doc. It's under 'Chapter Organization Documents'. Definitely worth checking out. Just don't let it intimidate you as it's very detailed ... and that's a good thing!
Then, when everything is in place and you're feeling good about what you've done, get in your RT and go exploring ... and pretty soon it will be 'Rally Time'. See you there!

Rally reports:
Coeur d'Alene Fun (2015)
Between June 1st and 5th we experienced the camaraderie of 71 Roadtrekers at the Coeur D’Alene Region 8 Rally. The Rally was ably organized by Carol and Terry Ryan who deserve our thanks and congratulations. Everyone else pitched in on an 'as needed' basis but special mention goes to Judy Rizzuto for her photography and Joe Rizzuto who kept the trash moving. Thank you all.
Our host Blackwell Island RV Park did a great job accommodating our 40 units on its beautiful and comfortable grounds.
The Ryans had set up an agenda which allowed plenty of opportunity to socialize at the resort as well as to explore areas around Coeur D’Alene. The most memorable evening was the singing performance by Judy H. and the multitalented Terry Ryan. Their musical ability and stamina has impressed us all.
In the vicinity of Coeur D’Alene we personally enjoyed the historical town of Wallace on I-90. The town site is a preserved mining town displaying all of its pluses and vices. The drive around the lake was a treat as was the previous afternoon on a cruise boat which was included in the Rally program.
The fact that this rally was so well attended and received indicates that there is a need for more to be hosted in Region 8. We are looking for ideas and volunteers and the Ryans will be happy to offer support and advice.
